An established comprehensive ophthalmology group in Orchard Park, NY is currently seeking an experience Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join their team!

Title: Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire
Setting: Outpatient – Ophthalmology
Location: Orchard Park, NY (onsite at least two days a week)
Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm (flexible schedule)
Pay: $21-24/hr plus full benefits (PTO, 9 paid holidays, 401k with 4% match, health, dental vision, life insurance, free eyewear)

The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist will assist in managing the billing and finance department for a comprehensive ophthalmology group with 4 locations and 8 physicians.
- Complete claim corrections and reprocess claims
- Communicating with providers and evaluating medical records to ensure proper medical coding for medical billing
- Assist with entering charges/payments/adjustments into the billing software accurately and timely
- Identify and report trends in regards to payer processing errors and improper claim retractions
- Complete claim corrections and reprocess claims

Qualifications:
• 2 years of previous full cycle medical office billing experience; ophthalmology and surgery coding experience is a plus
• Must have knowledge of CPT and diagnosis coding process, Certified Professional Coder CPC is a plus
• Provider credentialling experience is a plus, not required
• Electronic Medical Record / EHR experience require (Nextech is a plus)
