A Residential Children’s Home located in Norfolk, VA is currently seeking a direct hire Lead Direct Support Professional to join their team full-time! Check out the details below:

Title: Lead DSP / Direct Support Professional
Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire
Setting: Direct Care – Pediatric Physical/Intellectual Disabilities
Location: Norfolk, VA
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hrs/wk, Day shift 6:30am-3pm
Pay: $18.00/hr

The Lead Direct Support Professional’s responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
- Assists individuals with all daily needs, including participating in routine, scheduled or spontaneous activities in Home and in the community.
- Grooming, hair care, nail care, mouth care, dressing, bathing, and toileting/diapering eating and following designated individualized feeding techniques.
- Applying splints and braces therapeutic positioning using a variety of adaptive equipment in multiple environments mobility, including lifting individuals from a seated or lying down position, pushing individuals in their wheelchairs, using adapted lifting equipment, and helping individuals walk and maintain stability.
- Implementing all specialized plans for individuals including, but not limited to, Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and specific protocols for daily routines.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- PREVIOUS TEAM LEAD / LEADERSHIP experience required
- At least 2 years of prior DSP, PCA, CNA or Behavioral Health Tech experience required
- Good driving record and be willing to drive company car
- Previous experience working with special needs children and/or young adults preferred
- CPR and Basic First Aid certifications preferred
