Who or what inspired you to pursue your profession?

Hannah: Watching the amazing nurses take care of my grandmother in her final days was what inspired me to pursue a nursing career.

Stephanie: I love being able to help people through the most life-changing experience they will have.

What made you go into travel nursing?

H: I wanted to be able to experience cities I would never live in permanently and explore their respective adventures.

S: I wanted to challenge myself by learning different hospitals, more cultures, and improving patient care nationwide.

How long have you and your friend been traveling together?

H: This is our second contract together. We met on assignment on both of our first contracts over a year ago!

S: We’ve been traveling together for three months. We just started our second assignment together and we’ve been traveling around the country and world for the last year.

What’s your favorite part about traveling with your friend?

H: Having someone to explore with! We have a lot of the same interests and really enjoy getting outside of our comfort zones together.

S: It’s so nice to have a buddy to go to cute coffee shops with every morning in different towns.

What has been your favorite location for travel nursing so far and why?

H: Boston! I grew up on the west coast so being able to experience something different than my normal was a lot of fun. Also, the nurses I met were hilarious!

S: I really enjoyed my time in San Diego. It was perfect sunny weather.

What is your favorite thing about travel nursing?

H: Location, location, location! I’m very driven by the experience!

S: Seeing that there are 10 different ways to do the same thing.

What is one thing you can’t live without while traveling?

H: A speaker! I love music and don’t travel anywhere without it. I also love bringing my own pillow and bedsheets.

S: I can’t live without my dog! She comes with me everywhere.

What advice can you give others who are interested in travel nursing?

H: Do your research! There is so much information out there about each hospital, location, pay, etc. Reach out to others and figure out what will work best for you and what your priorities are.

S: Be open-minded about how hospitals do interventions. There’s not always a right and wrong way. Continue to give the best patient care possible. Plan things on your days off

Tell us what makes you unique! What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests?

H: I love anything active! Playing tennis, hiking, skiing, etc. I’m always down to try something new and travel nursing has allowed me to do just that!

S: This summer I got really into paddle boarding. I love to hike and do orienteering. My dog has been to 38 states which is more than the average American citizen!
