Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p, hybrid
Pay: Pay based on experience, plus health, dental, vision insurance, PTO, & 401k matching!

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Certified Billing & Coding Specialist duties include but not limited to:

- Manage the full billing cycle within Valant, including charge entry, claims, payment posting, and patient billing
- Manage payer relations, credentialing, authorizations, collections, and claim denials
- Review documentation and ensure accurate behavioral health ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Research and resolve denied or delayed claims with insurance payers
- Monitor clinic KPIs and financial reports to identify trends and revenue opportunities
- Progress into leadership responsibilities, including training and supervising administrative/billing staff

REQUIREMENTS:
- Active CPC, CCS, CCS-P, or similar recognized coding certification
- 2+ years of medical billing and coding experience, preferably in mental health, behavioral health, or psychiatry
- Valant EMR experience strongly preferred
- Experience with clearinghouses and payer portals
- Knowledge of BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Medicare, TriWest, CHAMPVA, and Community First
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Self-starter interested in advancing into healthcare management
