Travel to the Jersey Shore

If your first thought of New Jersey is Tony Soprano, you're missing out on a great deal of fun and history.

New Jersey’s Shore Region has a lot to offer. The first thing that comes to mind would be swimming, surfing, fishing, water sports, strolling and sunbathing along miles of pristine beaches. Incredible food, cultural events, or even a walk through history is never far away. Nestled between the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the New Jersey Shore is the perfect setting for boardwalk strolls, afternoon teas, reliving history, and creating fantastic memories.

The Garden State's 21 historic lighthouses throughout time have guarded mariners sailing off shore on the Atlantic Ocean. Eleven of New Jersey's lighthouses are open to the public. They are located in some of the most beautiful, provocative and stimulating areas of the state.

Catch some outstanding concerts and music at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove or exceptional entertainment at Red Bank's Count Basie Theatre. Don't miss the charm of a classic full stage musical at Beach Haven's Surflight Theatre, a professional show at the historic Strand Theatre in Lakewood, or at the Fine Arts Center in Toms River.

If action is more your style, cheer on your favorite horse at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, or the Freehold Raceway in Freehold. A different kind of horse power can be found at Old Bridge Raceway Park in Englishtown, Wall Township's Wall Stadium, or the New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt.

Scream with excitement or jump for joy at Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park. And when you've recovered from the roller coasters and drive-through Wild Safari Animal Park, test the waters at Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

Hunt for bargains at the Englishtown Flea Market Auction or Jackson Outlet Village. Search for the special memento at a gallery of New Jersey artists and craftsmen or find that special treasure in an antique shop.

With everything from seaside thrills to amusement park chills, you won't run out of fun and excitement in the Shore Region. You can take a travel assignment with Favorite Healthcare Staffing and leave the details to us. Just pack and go for a trip full of sunshine, entertainment and great pay! Call us at 800-755-1411 or email gotravel@favoritestaffing.com to inquire about our current contracts.

National Healthcare Volunteer Week

Recognize a volunteer at a local facility - or become one yourself!

Celebrate National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 23-29, 2006
Volunteers: The True Spirit of Caring

National Healthcare Volunteer Week was designed to recognize the support that volunteers and auxilians provide to hospital staff, their patients, their family members and the community. This is the perfect occasion to focus on the many significant contributions volunteers make on a daily basis and to thank volunteers at facilities where you are assigned, particularly on Monday, April 24, Healthcare Volunteer Day.

Though you give of your heart and time on a daily basis while working as a healthcare professional, consider volunteering for a cause that you support. The Independent Sector offers Ten Tips for Wise Volunteering, and you can find volunteer opportunities by visiting VolunteerMatch.org.

Favorite Flicks

The Newsletter Staff reviews recent movie releases.

Ice Age: The Meltdown (Rated PG)
While maybe not as funny as the original, this sequel is enjoyable and hilarious. It details the adventures of Manny, Diego and Sid as they deal with the impending flood of their home valley. A real family treat just in time for the end of the school year and the opening of the summer vacation season. Definitely for kids of all ages.
Our Score: (3 out of 4 Stethoscopes)

V for Vendetta (Rated R)
This film will capture your attention and leave you thinking after you walk out of the theater. A tremendous cast (Natalie Portman at her absolute best), an interesting and thought provoking storyline and breathtaking visuals, make V for Vendetta a must-see.
Our Score: (3 1/2 out of 4 Stethoscopes)

Inside Man (Rated R)
With three all-star cast members, this movie delivers a hostage situation with a riveting storyline. Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, and Jodie Foster keep people glued to their seats.
Our Score: (3 1/2 out of 4 Stethoscopes)
