Prom Nightmares

Read prom nightmare stories submitted by our employees!

"I was playing in a tennis tournament for school on the day of our prom, and while our team won the tournament, we missed most of prom! I had 30 minutes to get ready for my date and had a sunburn and “farmers” tan. We missed our dinner reservations and we were still late to prom. My date was boring, so I had him bring me home early anyway! The next year was worse: same tennis tournament, same sunburn, late for prom - only a different date. This guy was from another school and cheating on me with a girl who was at the prom!"
--
Elise Lyons, Branch Director - Denver

"As chairman of the Prom Committee you think that your work is finally done when you get to the Prom, right? Wrong! Little did I know that Prom night was my first experience with that dreaded responsibility in every job description known as 'Other duties as assigned'. Here's what happened. One of the Prom couples had a huge fight which resulted in the guy going home and leaving his date crying in the ladies room. She didn't want to leave the prom because she was too humiliated to go home (not to mention that she had no way to get there). So she sat in the ladies room and cried all night. When the Prom ended, my date and I took her home. I guess the inconvenience of having a 'third wheel' on my date was nothing compared to being left at the prom."
