Critical
Care Nurse Spotlight

In
celebration of Critical Care Month, we take an up close and
personal look at Favorite Nurse Lisa Young, an ICU/CCU nurse
from Milwaukee.
Like
many little girls, Lisa Young grew up playing nurse and dreaming
of career in healthcare. When she first enrolled in college,
she intended to pursue a degree in medicine. Eventually though,
she
decided
that a career in nursing was her calling.
Lisa
has worked in a variety of settings which include a small, rural
ICU, an 11-bed neuro-surgical ICU, a 7-bed level I neuro-trauma
ICU and a level II emergency department. She started working for
Favorite full-time in October of 2000.
When
asked what she enjoys about working for Favorite Staffing, she
explained, “What I like about working for Favorite is
the flexibility of my schedule. Having flexibility allows me time
to pursue other interests and hobbies. I also enjoy the diversity
of the populations that I see with the multiple hospitals that
I have worked. I’ve had the opportunity to meet many new
wonderful people and form new relationships, as well as opportunities
to gain different perspectives on how to perform certain tasks
or procedures.
“Favorite Staffing
has been a great employer to me. I have enjoyed all the support
from the Milwaukee office. They consistently
go above and beyond to ensure that my needs are met. They are
committed to their employees and really do care about their nurses.
I would
recommend Favorite Staffing to anyone!” In
her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her boyfriend
and his children, as well as
her family and friends. She likes watching movies
and reading. In the future, Lisa intends to pursue
her Master’s degree.
To all the ICU/CCU
nurses, Lisa says, “HAPPY CRITICAL CARE
MONTH!”
